Who is a Paralegal? Why Paralegals? Why using Hesami Legal services?
Effective May 01, 2007, as a result of amendments to Ontario’s Law Society Act, the Law Society regulates more than 4,200 paralegal licensees in Ontario. Paralegals are licensed to provide limited legal services, such as providing representation before provincial tribunals. Paralegals provide the public with an affordable alternative to hiring lawyers,
Paralegals relieve the amount of lesser cases that would not be practical for lawyers to handle,
Licensed paralegals arose out of a variety of public needs
If you represent yourself you have to study about the rules and make sure that you file proper papers and may take you cost for not attending to your work for several days and difficulty of going to courts and finding parking and line-up for filing your documents and finding relevant evidence for the purpose of the claim and not missing limitations time and etc.
What is the difference between a paralegal and a lawyer?
While lawyers can represent clients in any legal issue, paralegals can represent clients in limited functions. In the province of Ontario, paralegals can represent clients in Small Claims Court (civil suits worth less than $25,000), in criminal cases in the Ontario Court of Justice under the Provincial Offences where the maximum penalty is no longer than 6 months in prison, and before administrative tribunals, such as the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB), Human rights tribunals, Immigration and Refugee Boards,…
